Hohberg (dpa / lsw) - A firefighter was slightly injured in a fire in six residential buildings in the Ortenau district. He was taken to a hospital on suspicion of smoke inhalation, a police spokesman said on Wednesday. According to the current status of the investigation, the affected residents were able to leave the building in good time and were unharmed.
The extinguishing work in Hohberg had not yet been completed on Wednesday morning. The fire brigade continued to fight the remaining embers and the fire that was igniting again.
Around 150 firefighters and a large number of rescue workers and police officers were on duty at times. The fire broke out in the Diersburg district on Tuesday evening. There was initially no information about the possible cause of the fire or the damage caused. The police have started the investigation.
