Gerstetten (dpa / lsw) - A resident in Gerstetten (Heidenheim district) was defrauded of several thousand euros by a tar column on Friday afternoon. An unknown had offered her to tar the damaged driveway at a fixed price per square meter, the police said on Saturday. The woman agreed and a little later the tar column drove up. However, they mostly paved the road in front of the property and not the agreed area.
Nevertheless, the leader of the column gave the resident a bill for 17,000 euros. The woman felt under pressure and paid a deposit worth several thousand euros on the same day. According to a police spokesman, the investigation and the search for the tar column were initially ongoing.
