He is said to have killed his grandmother with a sushi knife in front of his mother. Now the verdict against a 28-year-old is expected. The background to the fact is a mental illness.

Ravensburg (dpa/lsw) - In the murder trial of a 28-year-old who is said to have killed his grandmother with a sushi knife, the pleadings and the verdict are expected today (8.30 a.m.). The German had confessed to having killed his grandmother in April of this year while she was of unsound mind. Because he is considered not to be guilty due to a mental illness, it is an application procedure that involves placement in a psychiatric ward.

The man is accused of having killed his grandmother in Achberg (Ravensburg district) with a throat cut in front of his mother. The 88-year-old had lived there with her grandson and his parents for more than a year and a half. After the crime, his mother and father held him until the police were able to arrest him without resistance.
