Baden-Württemberg: Minister Schopper warns of the consequences of the crisis for school children

Heilbronn (dpa / lsw) - According to Minister of Education Theresa Schopper, crises and social problems such as increasing expenses for families and inflation could have an even greater impact on children in schools than before. "Yes, there is a risk," said the Green Minister of the "Heilbronner Voice" (Saturday). A few children from socially disadvantaged families are already missing out on school trips because they don't have enough money at home. "Or they don't go to birthday parties because they can't bring a gift," Schopper told the newspaper.

For some parents it is a big challenge to finance their children's school supplies such as crayons. Of course there are grants. "But these social problems for children could continue to increase because of the rising cost of living and the inflation rate," warned the minister.
