Manching (dpa / lby) - Eight people were injured by pepper spray at a folk festival in Upper Bavaria. As the police announced on Saturday, an unknown person is said to have used the spray on the Barthelmarkt in Manching (Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm district) for initially unclear reasons. The slightly injured people complained of eye irritation on Friday evening and were treated on an outpatient basis.
According to the organizers, the Barthelmarkt is one of the oldest folk festivals in the world. The more than 2000-year-old festival has its origins as a horse market.
