Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Organized crime is continuing to establish itself in Baden-Württemberg. The number of investigations increased from 33 to 37 cases last year, as the Ministry of the Interior announced in Stuttgart on Friday. Just over half were cases of drug-related crime. Around 16 percent related to white-collar crime, around eight percent to property crime and eight percent to cybercrime. Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) reported that police units from Germany and Italy were only recently able to strike an important blow against the Italian mafia. A large number of arrest warrants were executed in Italy and Germany.
