Ulm (dpa / lsw) - In a rear-end collision on the Autobahn 7 near Niederstotzingen (Heidenheim district), three people were injured, two of them seriously. A 64-year-old driver was heading towards Würzburg on Monday evening when a 38-year-old hit him unbraked, the police said on Tuesday night. Both cars then skidded. Another driver aged 52 could not brake in time and crashed her car into the 64-year-old's car. Both occupants were seriously injured.
The person who caused the accident suffered minor injuries and fled the scene on foot. The man was then searched for by a police helicopter. The police are asking for witnesses to the whereabouts or transport of the fugitive. According to the police, he could have been looking for a ride at the Niederstotzingen junction.
