Bavaria: Ambulance stolen: Man builds three accidents and escapes

Munich (dpa / lby) - With a stolen ambulance, a 38-year-old had three accidents in Munich and then fled. He and three other people suffered minor injuries. The man stole the vehicle, which was parked on a street for an operation Sunday night, police reported on Monday. The 38-year-old got in and drove off with blue lights and a siren. During his journey, he first crashed into the car of a 53-year-old, from which a 52-year-old passenger got out. He then crashed into the taxi of a 27-year-old, then crashed into a traffic light pole and ran away on foot. During the search, the 38-year-old was found in a park.

How he was able to start the ambulance was initially unclear. The key was on the waistband of a paramedic, said a police spokeswoman. The three injured were taken to hospitals. The 38-year-old took care of his injuries himself. He now has to answer for negligent bodily harm, hit and run and unauthorized use of the ambulance, among other things.
