Essen (dpa / lnw) - The Day of German Unity started cloudy in North Rhine-Westphalia, but largely without precipitation. In the course of the day, the sun should increasingly appear, especially in the south-east, according to the German Weather Service (DWD). The maximum temperatures are 15 to 18 degrees, in the higher mountains a maximum of 13 degrees. In the night to Tuesday it remains cloudy and precipitation-free with lows of 10 to 6 degrees.

Tuesday starts with fog, but high "Timeo" ensures "golden October weather" during the day, according to the DWD. The temperatures rise to 17 to 20 degrees. This mix of sun and clouds will continue on Wednesday and Thursday. With maximum values of up to 24 degrees, Wednesday will probably be the warmest day of the week, but it will also bring strong gusts. Despite the sunshine, temperatures will drop back to below 20 degrees on Thursday.
