Bavaria: Bavaria extends medical training in rural areas

Munich (dpa / lby) - Bavaria is extending the training program for young doctors in the country by one year. The aim is to attract even more young doctors to work in rural areas, Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) said on Saturday. The program, which has been running since 2018, is successful, 75 students have already been mentored and 24 are taking part in the current year. The program connects future doctors with a region, where they are intensively supported by clinics and general practitioners. "That's why we're continuing it in 2023," said the minister.
