Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Minister praises the work of the voluntary arbitrators

Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Minister of Justice Jacqueline Bernhardt (left) has praised the voluntary work of the arbitrators in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The arbitrators in the communities have a major task, said the minister on Saturday. They even managed to bring together people who were initially opposed to arbitration and, in the best-case scenario, even end the dispute with a settlement.

According to the Ministry, the Federation of German Arbitrators currently has 225 arbitrators in 120 arbitration boards in the MV state association. The number of applications for arbitration has been between 250 and almost 300 a year for years. According to the information, a total of 255 applications for arbitration were made last year. Of these, most cases concerned disagreements in the neighborhood. The honorary arbitrators were therefore able to reach a settlement in a total of 126 civil law cases.
