Mistelbach/Bayreuth (dpa/lby) - In the case of the killed couple of doctors in Mistelbach, Upper Franconia, the Bayreuth Regional Court admitted the prosecutor's charge of joint murder to the main hearing. The trial of the victims' daughter and her boyfriend will begin on October 19, the court said on Monday.
The main hearing before the 1st Large Youth Chamber is expected to take place in public. The judges have therefore scheduled 16 days of hearings until December 16th. The male accused was 18 at the time of the crime and the couple's daughter was 16 years old. According to the court, both are currently in custody.
The 51-year-old pediatrician and his 47-year-old wife were allegedly stabbed to death in their sleep on the night of January 9 in their house in Mistelbach (Bayreuth district). The friend of the eldest daughter quickly became the focus of investigators. After the crime, the young man and the daughter fled to Bayreuth, a few kilometers away, and later turned themselves in to the police.
