Pullenreuth (dpa / lby) - 500,000 euros in damage occurred in the fire at a property in the Upper Palatinate. Four residents were able to escape from the residential building in Pullenreuth (Tirschenreuth district), but suffered smoke poisoning, the police said. The ambulance service took two women aged 63 and 48 to the hospital on Monday night. A 75-year-old and the 62-year-old homeowner were treated as outpatients.
The cause of the fire initially remained unclear. A neighbor had reported the fire, which apparently broke out in an outbuilding of the house. It quickly spread to the garage, other outbuildings and the home, burning much of the property.
