Munich (dpa / lby) - A 42-year-old triggered a police operation with a knife in Munich. The man was openly carrying a folding knife in the subway on Monday and behaving conspicuously, the police said on Tuesday. The 42-year-old did not threaten any passengers, but is said to have held the knife in his hand and shouted. A passenger informed the police, the subway was stopped. The police arrested the man and took him to the police station.
However, since he had not endangered anyone, he was reportedly allowed to leave the police station again. The 42-year-old was heavily intoxicated, and there were also indications of a mental illness. A police spokesman said that the man was also banned from using weapons. The police are now investigating a violation of this ban.
