Thuringia: Hundreds of households in Erfurt without electricity due to cable defects

Erfurt (dpa/th) - A defective medium-voltage cable led to a power outage in 1,200 households in Erfurt on Tuesday, lasting about two hours. The north of the state capital was affected in the morning, according to a spokesman for the Erfurt public utility company. The power supply has now been restored by switching, the repair work on the defective cable is still ongoing. There are no known major disruptions caused by the power outage. As early as Monday, 2,200 households in the north of Erfurt temporarily had no electricity. According to the municipal works, an excavator had severed a cable during shaft work.
