Bad Neustadt (dpa / lby) - In an apartment fire in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld, two heavily drunk men suffered slight smoke poisoning. The fire probably broke out on Thursday evening because of an empty ashtray in a garbage can, the police said on Friday. The two 48- and 55-year-olds put the burning bucket in the bathtub, which also caught fire in parts of the bathroom.
The emergency services evacuated the house, it was said. The apartment was no longer habitable due to the soot and the heat. A total of around 50 emergency services were on site. There were no other injuries. The police assume negligent arson.
