Bavaria: Von Brunn attacked: "SPD wants to take responsibility"

Munich (dpa / lby) - A year before the state elections in Bavaria, the SPD state chairman and designated top candidate Florian von Brunn sharply attacked the state government of Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU). He accused the CSU of decades of failings in areas such as energy, education, social and housing policy. In central areas, Söder is afraid to take responsibility - that's why the SPD must do this, said von Brunn on Saturday at an SPD state party conference in Munich. "We don't just talk - like Söder." The SPD does not let anyone down, he stressed.

Brunn was then to be officially nominated as the top candidate at the party conference. This is considered a formality - the state board has proposed him for it. Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) also campaigned for him as a prominent guest.

In several state election surveys, the Social Democrats did not get past a maximum of ten percent, they ended up far behind the CSU and also behind the Greens.
