Eresing (dpa / lby) - A woman drove her car into a group of people at a village festival in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech. The 56-year-old accelerated from a standing start in Eresing on Monday evening and pressed the accelerator pedal, the police said on Tuesday. There was acute danger for a group of five to eight people.
Some of them could only dodge by jumping and thus avoiding a collision with the car. Nobody got hurt.
According to the police, the trigger for the "wandering around" is said to be a mental illness in the 56-year-old. The woman was taken into custody and taken to a psychiatric hospital. The police are investigating a dangerous intervention in road traffic.
