Regensburg (dpa / lby) - Presumably young people laid stones on the tracks at a train stop in Regensburg. A freight train then drove over it, a spokeswoman for the Federal Police reported on Wednesday. The train driver saw two people in the waiting room at the stop in the Burgweinting district, one of whom is said to have been around 16 years old. The boy looked at the driver and laughed as the train ran over the stones.
When a patrol arrived on site after the incident on Tuesday evening, the two people could no longer be found, according to the information. To be on the safe side, the track area was closed during the investigation, the spokeswoman said. This caused some trains to be delayed. The federal police are now looking for possible witnesses.
