The American singer Ben Kweller has to cope with the loss of his child. As Kweller himself announced via Instagram, his son Dorian died at the age of just 16. The musician does not go into the exact cause of death in his emotional post. However, he does speak of Dorian being "killed last night." The US portal "Page Six" also reports that the 16-year-old died in a tragic car accident. Along with his wife Liz, Kweller wrote about the tragic loss of a picture of his son: "As long as we are in the world, we will not get over it."

His son only recently followed his father's path and wanted to gain a foothold as a musician. Dorian "wrote and recorded songs every day". He has been a "real poet" since the day he could speak. So far, however, only a few recordings of his son have been published. "My little boy was standing on the starting line with so much life ahead of him..." continued a distraught Kweller. He and his wife are "completely in shock" and have no idea what the future will bring and how to deal with this catastrophe.

Ben Kweller is a well-known anti-folk and indie pop musician in the USA who has already worked with genre greats such as Adam Green and the New York garage rock band The Strokes and who released numerous songs and albums in the 2000s. In Europe, he is best known as the support act for British superstar Ed Sheeran on his 2019 tour.

Numerous comments from his fellow artists have already accumulated under the sad Instagram post. So far, musicians Ben Lee, Kevin Morby, Taylor Hanson, James Valentine, actress Tommy Dorfman and model Lily Aldridge have all given condolences. Ed Sheeran has yet to comment.
