Hesse: After an accident on Autobahn 5: the injured boy died

Bensheim/Heppenheim (dpa/lhe) - Three days after the accident on Autobahn 5 in southern Hesse over the weekend, a boy died as a result. The eight-year-old succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, the police in Darmstadt said on Wednesday. He had been in a car that left the road between Bensheim and Heppenheim for reasons that were not yet known and crashed into a breakdown vehicle that was parked on the hard shoulder. The 55-year-old driver of the accident car was also seriously injured. He and the child were flown to hospitals by helicopter.
