Hesse: Award for Hesse's best village inns

Eichenzell (dpa/lhe) - They create community and are an economic and tourism factor in rural areas: For the second time, the industry association Dehoga Hessen and the State Chancellery have awarded the 50 best village inns in Hessen. Especially in smaller communities, the inns are important places for encounters and socializing, explained Prime Minister Boris Rhein (CDU) on the occasion of the award. The winners of the competition "kept this beautiful and important tradition of village inns for our country and enrich people's lives with great personal commitment, great ideas and innovative and sustainable concepts".

The competition is not just about good food or the best online ratings, but also about the contribution of the houses to social coexistence, emphasized Dehoga Hessen President Gerald Kink. The award-winning companies are spread all over Hesse. These include those with a long family tradition and several hundred years of history, as well as young companies that were only recently founded, still in the middle of the corona pandemic. Information on the award-winning village inns is contained in a tourist guide that was printed with a circulation of 30,000 copies and is available from tourist information and Dehoga Hessen.
