Zierenberg (dpa/lhe) - A burning van has caused a 20-kilometer traffic jam on Autobahn 44 in northern Hesse. The police in Kassel said no one was injured in the fire on Wednesday. The underbody of the van caught fire near Zierenberg in the morning, probably due to a technical defect. The 73-year-old driver noticed this, parked the van on the hard shoulder and escaped from the car. This burned out completely. The Autobahn in the direction of Dortmund was completely closed for two hours.
