Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - After "Gretel" and "Bertl" comes "Manni": The official Christmas tree of the city of Frankfurt arrived on the Römerberg on Tuesday. The 25 meter high spruce comes from the Spessart, more precisely from the municipality of Flörsbachtal in the Main-Kinzig district.
After arriving at the Römerberg, the lacings were first untied. Then employees of the fire department began to set up the tree. In order to save energy, the Christmas tree should be lit less this year, as the Tourismus Congress GmbH announced.
The tree of the year 2021 also came from the Main-Kinzig district. However, "Gretel" was taller at 31 meters. In 2020, "Bertl" caused nationwide ridicule. The torn tree had been delivered from Austria and made a rather regrettable figure.
