Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - In 2021, the number of people in employment in 15 of the 26 Hessian regions increased compared to the previous year. The increase is mainly due to the fact that the value in the corona year 2020 was comparatively low, the State Statistical Office announced on Monday in Wiesbaden.
According to this, around 3.51 million people were employed in Hesse in 2021. On a nationwide average, the number in the urban and rural districts increased by an average of 0.1 percent compared to the previous year.
According to the information, the Odenwald district recorded the largest increase with 1.5 percent. The Rheingau-Taunus district and the district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg, on the other hand, reported the highest decline in the number of people in employment at minus 1.1 percent, the state office explained with reference to data from the working group “Employee Accounting of the States”.
The information covers all employees, regardless of their position in the profession and regardless of working hours. The figures refer to the place of work and not to the place of residence.
