Thuringia: Marquardt investment project for electric vehicles

Arnstadt (dpa/th) - The Baden-Württemberg family company Marquardt is building a factory for battery management systems for electric vehicles in Thuringia. The mechatronics manufacturer, headquartered in Rietheim-Weilheim, announced on Monday at the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony for the project that a three-digit million amount will be invested. The target date for the start of production is mid-2024. This is already the second Marquardt plant in Thuringia's largest industrial area "Erfurter Kreuz".

According to the company, more than 300 new jobs are to be created in the next three years and the workforce at the Thuringian location will increase to around 800 by 2025.
