Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: SSC wants to progress in the CEV Cup: "Scratch, bite, spit"

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - After the Bundesliga defeat against Dresdner SC, the volleyball players from SSC Palmberg Schwerin want to rehabilitate themselves by progressing in the CEV Cup. Coach Felix Koslowski's team created the best conditions for the second duel next Wednesday (7 p.m./sportdeutschland.tv) with the 3-0 win in the first leg against Zeleznicar Lajkovac from Serbia a week ago. In order to reach the round of 16, it is enough for the Mecklenburg women to win two sets to get the one point. Should the Serbian hosts win 3-0 or 3-1, the winning team would then be determined in a golden set (up to 15 points).

However, as Lajkovac had to do without a top attacker in last Wednesday's game, Koslowski expects "a whole new game". The coach had little to say on Monday about the kind of atmosphere his team was expecting in Serbia. "We have to work on our own stuff first. We've had a good season so far but saw a game at the weekend that wasn't good," he said. "But we know that there's a lot more to us than that."

Koslowski therefore announced, with reference to the goal of being represented in the CEV Cup in addition to the Bundesliga and DVV Cup at the turn of the year: "It's the last game before Christmas and we want to get through at any price. We'll scratch, bite, spit to get to the next round."
