Kamenz (dpa/sn) - The district of Meissen lost around one percent of its jobs last year. The state statistical office announced on Monday that this was the sharpest decline in all of Saxony. In contrast, the city of Leipzig and the district of North Saxony were able to increase by 1.1 and 0.9 percent. There was also a slight increase in the districts of Zwickau, Bautzen and Görlitz. Across the country, an average of 2.055 million people were registered in employment in 2021 - a drop of 0.1 percent compared to the previous year. According to the information, there was a decline in the self-employed and helping family members as well as in part-time employees.
