Hesse: forest fire in the Hochtaunuskreis: large-scale operation of the rescue workers

Neu-Anspach (dpa/lhe) - A forest fire in the Hochtaunus district led to a large-scale operation by rescue workers on Wednesday. Almost 200 women and men from the fire brigade, rescue service and police were on site, the Oberursel fire brigade announced on Thursday. The fire was reported at noon. Around 130,000 liters of water were needed to extinguish the flames in the 7,000 square meter area in the Neu-Anspach forest. According to the fire department, the column of smoke could be seen from miles away, and many people had called the emergency services. The extinguishing work lasted until the evening.
