Hesse: Investigations into irregularities in the allocation of land

Gelnhausen (dpa / lhe) - After irregularities in the allocation of land, the Hanau public prosecutor's office is investigating a former administrative employee of Gelnhausen. The authorities said on Thursday that there was suspicion of indirect false certification, inducing a subordinate to commit a crime, fraud and forgery of documents. The man's son and daughter-in-law are also being investigated for allegations of forgery.

The former administrative employee of the city in the Main-Kinzig district is said to have ensured that his son and daughter-in-law came into possession of a property, although they are said not to have previously taken part in an application process. The preliminary proceedings got rolling when a criminal complaint was filed by the magistrate, represented by the mayor of Gelnhausen, Daniel Glöckner (FDP), in June of this year.

For further clarification, a residential building was also searched and evidence was secured, the public prosecutor said. In addition, further evidence was secured from the Gelnhausen city council, the city building authority and the Gelnhausen urban development company, including above all documents on the award procedure. The representatives of the authorities had shown themselves to be fully cooperative, according to the public prosecutor. The district office of the Main-Kinzig district was also visited with a so-called obligation to surrender, but no evidence relevant to the proceedings was found there.

The evidence that was secured would now be evaluated jointly by the Hanau public prosecutor's office and the criminal police - witnesses would also be heard.
