Hesse: protest action leads to impairment in rail traffic

Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - A protest with an abseiling action at Frankfurt West train station on Saturday led to considerable disruption to rail traffic. The federal police said that two wheelchair users were present during the action of four demonstrators. The four people would have shown a poster with the inscription "Mobility turn now". During the almost three-hour campaign, two tracks had to be temporarily closed. At around 12.40 p.m., the participants voluntarily stopped the campaign.

The police have established the identities and the federal police have initiated administrative offense proceedings for unauthorized stay in the track area. According to the railway, regional and S-Bahn traffic was affected by the actions. There were no effects on long-distance traffic.
