Raunheim (dpa/lhe) - Six people were injured in a head-on collision between two cars in Raunheim. A 21-year-old lost control of his car late on Friday evening and crashed into a car behind a traffic island in oncoming traffic, as the Rüsselsheim police headquarters announced on Saturday. According to initial investigations, the 21-year-old was driving at a speed that was not adapted to the wet roads, it said. The 26-year-old driver of the other car was trapped in his vehicle and taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. His passenger was also injured and taken to a hospital for further observation.

The four occupants in the car of the suspected cause of the accident were injured, some slightly, but were released after initial treatment, it said. Both cars were totaled, the police estimate the property damage at 14,000 euros.
