Hesse: "SkyRun" staircase in the exhibition tower for a good cause

Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - This Sunday (9.45 a.m.) the 13th "SkyRun" in the Frankfurt Messeturm is going high. After a four-year break, it's up to the participants again: conquer 1200 steps and thus 213 meters in altitude - and of course as quickly as possible. According to the organizers, the fastest runners need less than 7 minutes for the 61 floors.

The staircase run is tackled in different categories. In addition to individual runners, company teams also start together. In addition, fire brigade teams and rescue teams, sometimes with equipment, compete. For children there is a shortened staircase with 642 steps up to the 32nd floor.

After the last event in 2018, the Messeturm was not available for the run from 2019 due to construction work. After that, the stair climbing event was canceled due to the Corona situation. This year, the proceeds from the event will go to an association for the benefit of paraplegic children.
