Offenbach (dpa/lhe) - People in Hesse have to be prepared for stormy gusts on Friday. These could reach a speed of between 60 and 80 kilometers per hour, as reported by the German Weather Service (DWD). The day is expected to be cloudy, with rain possible by early afternoon. The maximum temperatures are 8 to 12 degrees, on the Wasserkuppe up to 5 degrees.
Saturday night will remain cloudy with scattered rain showers. The lows are between 6 and 10 degrees. The stormy gusts are expected to blow into the night, especially in the mountains.
New Year's Saturday starts out cloudy, north of the Main it can rain at times. According to the DWD, the temperatures rise to a maximum of 15 to 18 degrees, and up to 12 degrees at high altitudes. According to the forecast, strong to stormy gusts are also to be expected on Saturday, with severe gusts of wind at crests.
New Year's Eve on Sunday is expected to be cloudy at 8 to 12 degrees, but largely rain-free.
