Linsengericht (dpa/lhe) - After the body of a man was found in the community of Linsengericht (Main-Kinzig-Kreis), a 28-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of murder. The Hanau public prosecutor's office and the police announced on Monday that there was a strong suspicion that he had killed a 25-year-old man from Gelnhausen on September 17 of this year. According to the investigation so far, the two men are said to have known each other, as a public prosecutor's spokeswoman said on request. Investigations are still underway into the exact background of the crime.
The Syrian national was arrested last Friday after extensive investigations by the public prosecutor and the criminal police. On Saturday, a judge at the Gelnhausen district court issued an arrest warrant against him and ordered him to be held in custody on suspicion of murder. The man is already in a correctional facility.
The dead man was discovered in Linseed Court near the railway tracks. After an autopsy, investigators assumed a homicide. The victim also had Syrian nationality.
