Hesse: Wolf ripped sheep near Ober-Mörlen

Ober-Mörlen (dpa/lhe) - In Hesse, a sheep has been torn by a wolf again. The animal was found near Ober-Mörlen in the Wetteraukreis, said the State Agency for Nature Conservation, Environment and Geology (HLNUG) on Monday in Wiesbaden. Wolf DNA was found on the sample of the livestock tear from the end of October. The genotyping of the sample is still pending. Should this be successful, conclusions could also be drawn about the wolf.

The state office announced just a few days ago that three sheep in Hesse had been killed by a wolf in October. These were two animals near Bad Hersfeld and one in Greifenstein in the Lahn-Dill district. With the new case, a total of nine farm animals in Hesse were killed by wolves in 2022.
