Hesse: Woman and two children suffer from carbon monoxide poisoning

Babenhausen (dpa/lhe) - A 37-year-old woman and two girls suffered carbon monoxide poisoning in Babenhausen (Darmstadt-Dieburg district) on Friday. The 54-year-old father of the children alerted the emergency services after his wife briefly passed out, a police spokeswoman said. A CO meter then failed in the family's apartment. The woman and her seven- and eleven-year-old daughters had to be taken to hospitals with minor injuries. The police suspect a grill that was used on the terrace of the apartment to be the cause of the increased carbon monoxide value: the gas could have drawn into the apartment through an open door.
