Loiret. Loiret. A two-wheeler struck a policewoman during a routine check, causing serious injuries.

It was a banal check that went wrong. A 25-year old police trainee was hurt after being hit by a two-wheeler in Amilly (Loiret), on Saturday evening. Our colleagues from France Bleu Orleans and La Republique du Center reported the incident.

These facts were discovered near a roundabout at 11:15 p.m. Loic Abrial, Montargis' public prosecutor, stated that the driver of the two wheeler was not wearing a helmet and refused to undergo a traffic check. He continued on his way and then intentionally struck the young officer.

After briefly losing consciousness, the police trainee was revived by emergency services. He had several fractures in his nose and tibia. Although his vital prognosis has not been established, the prosecution deemed his injuries serious.

The two-wheeler driver fled the scene and left his vehicle behind. Police have identified the 18-year old man and are actively looking for him.

An investigation has been opened into attempted intentional homicide against a public official.
