Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The 31st Filmkunstfest Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is coming to an end today in Schwerin. Since Tuesday, more than 140 productions have been shown in the "Capitol" festival cinema and open air, including 22 German premieres and 10 world premieres. After the award ceremony on Saturday evening, the audience will have another opportunity on Sunday to lean back in the cinema seats and watch films as they please.

Feature films, documentaries, children's films and short films from Germany, Austria and Switzerland competed in four competitions. Guest country this year was Romania. Series also presented films from France, the Baltic Sea region, from Defa production and from the NDR. A series with his films was also dedicated to this year's honorary award winner, the actor Matthias Habich ("Klemperer", "Nowhere in Africa").
