Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: 35-year-old dies after ice breach at sea near Dabel

Dabel (dpa / mv) - A 35-year-old man broke through the thin ice on Lake Holzendorf near Dabel (Ludwigslust-Parchim district) and died. The police said the man was under water for around ten minutes on Sunday and was resuscitated on site. According to police information from Monday, the 35-year-old died on Sunday in the hospital as a result of the accident. His 33-year-old companion, who also collapsed on the ice, was originally thought to be seriously injured, but was released from the hospital on Monday. The police have now launched a death investigation.
