Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Approached: the suspect wanted to report a wild boar accident

Grimmen (dpa / mv) - the police and public prosecutor's office in Western Pomerania are investigating a driver who is said to have hit a man in Grimmen on New Year's Eve and then fled. As a police spokesman said on Monday, the 31-year-old suspect wanted to show the accident on Sunday morning as a collision with a wild boar. The animal then allegedly fled near Gransebieth (West Pomerania-Rügen).

However, the police officers in Grimmen noticed that the damage to the front of the car did not match such a black coat, but rather the collision with the 25-year-old Grimmen shortly after midnight.

The officials had the 31-year-old blow into a tube that showed a breath alcohol level of 0.7 per thousand. The public prosecutor ordered the use of a Dekra expert to examine the incident and the temporarily seized car more closely. It is being investigated on suspicion of negligent bodily harm.

The pedestrian was hit by the car in Grimmen shortly after midnight while the fireworks were being lit. Other men, who were also lighting firecrackers, had observed the accident and given initial clues to the getaway car. The 25-year-old seriously injured from Grimmen was taken to a clinic.
