Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: car rolls into the harbor basin when loading a sailing boat

Karlshagen (dpa / mv) - The car of a 49-year-old man rolled into the Karlshagen harbor while loading a sailing boat. The man wanted to transport the boat on Saturday with a special trailer (trailer), as announced by the State Water Protection Police Office in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. For this he stopped with the team on a sloping ramp, it was said. To help with the cranks, the man got out of his automatic transmission car.

He had secured it against rolling with the "P" position, i.e. in parking mode. But when the load of the boat affected the team, according to the police, the power of the brake system was apparently no longer sufficient and the car and trailer slipped into the harbor basin.

The sailboat was undamaged. The car and trailer were recovered by firefighters. According to the police, fuel leaked from the car, which contaminated the water. The amount of damage caused was initially unclear.
