Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Everyday helpers wanted for schools: No qualification required

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - 120 everyday helpers are now being sought for 120 selected schools in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. They should relieve the teachers and, for example, ventilate, make sure that the hygiene measures are observed, support corona tests, prepare material for the lessons and clean up, as the Ministry of Education announced on Wednesday. If they feel like it, they can also accompany the class on school trips. The everyday helpers are to be used in classes 1 to 6.

According to the information, the employment is limited to this school year. A formal qualification is not necessary. "The most important thing here is the suitability for this temporary support for the schools," says the job description, which was published on the Internet. The scope of employment is a maximum of 25 hours per week.

According to the information, the everyday helpers are paid according to the collective agreement of the public service. The federal government is providing 3.6 million euros for this. "In this way we are reacting to the special challenges posed by Corona in schools," explained Minister of Education Simone Oldenburg (left). The positions at selected schools would be advertised “with special challenges”.
