Schwerin (dpa/mv) - Four days after a dead baby was found in Schwerin, forensic doctors should clarify the exact cause of the little girl's death. As a police spokesman said on Tuesday, the public prosecutor's office has ordered an autopsy. The child's body was found early Friday morning by a resident in the backyard of an apartment building in Schwerin and the authorities were alerted. According to initial investigations, the girl is said to have been alive immediately after birth.
A 25-year-old woman from Schwerin was identified as the mother. According to the police, she was in the house in Feldstadt, a district in the center of Schwerin, on Friday, but did not live there. She has since been taken into custody.
