Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Hansa Rostock brings goalkeeper talent Max Hagemoser back

Rostock (dpa/mv) - Second division soccer team Hansa Rostock has completed its goalkeeper trio in time for the start of preparations for the coming season. The club from Mecklenburg signed Max Hagemoser from the U19s of 1. FC Köln on Wednesday. The 19-year-old signed until June 30, 2024, Hansa announced. Rostock had previously signed Nils-Jonathan Körber from Hertha BSC. Number one in goal is captain Markus Kolke. Hagemoser and Körber replace Luis Klatte and Ben Voll, whose contracts were not renewed.

For Hagemoser, moving to the Baltic Sea coast is a return home. The 1.90 meter tall goalkeeper talent was born in Güstrow. He received his soccer training at the Hansa youth academy, at RB Leipzig and at 1. FC Köln.

"Max is a tall, robust keeper with very good abilities and a lot of potential, but he recently had some bad luck with injuries in Cologne," said sporting director Martin Pieckenhagen. Hagemoser should initially be used in the U23 to collect match practice.

FC Hansa started on Wednesday with performance diagnostics in preparation for the second season since promotion in 2021. So far, Rostock's John-Patrick Strauß (Erzgebirge Aue), Kai Pröger (SC Paderborn) and Dennis Dressel (TSV 1860 Munich) as well as the two keeper Hagemoser and Körber for the squad of head coach Jens Härtel. In addition, Lukas Fröde, who was on loan from league rivals Karlsruher SC last season, has been signed on. Talent Felix Ruschke comes from Hansa's own U 19.
