Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: New regulations: Corona test centers are closing

Rostock/Greifswald (dpa/mv) - The new regulations for corona test centers lead to the closure of corresponding offers. In Western Pomerania, for example, the University Medicine Greifswald and the entrepreneur Ulf Dohrmann closed their last test centers on Friday. In addition to the already declining number of users, the now greater bureaucratic effort in combination with lower remuneration and probably even fewer tests have led to this, said the spokesman for university medicine, Christian Arns, on Friday of the German Press Agency. Dohrmann made a similar statement.

Dohrmann originally operated four test centers, including on the island of Rügen. On Friday he closed his last offer, a drive-in test center in Stralsund. According to Arns, the University Medicine Greifswald also operated four quick test points at the top, most recently one at the old canteen on the edge of downtown Greifswald.

In Rostock, the provider Teseo continues to operate two quick test points, one of them at the main station. But Thomas Speck from Teseo also spoke of challenges. Recently, you have to check and record the reason for a test and not just the personal details. First of all, do it on paper. The software used also had to be changed within a short period of time. Despite more bureaucracy, you get less money, he said.

According to a new federal regulation, free tests are only available for risk groups and other exceptional cases. For tests, for example for family celebrations, concerts or meetings with people over 60, an additional payment of three euros is due. Anyone who wants such a test must sign that it is being done for this purpose. Sick people with symptoms typical of Covid 19 should go to the doctor to undergo a free test.
