Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Prime Minister Schwesig in Copenhagen

Copenhagen (dpa/mv) - Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) will travel to the Danish capital Copenhagen for two days on Monday. She will be accompanied by Economics Minister Reinhard Meyer (SPD) and Science Minister Bettina Martin (SPD). In Copenhagen, among other things, a meeting with Secretary of State for Energy Lars Frelle Petersen and a visit to the Technical University of Denmark are planned.

In addition, a "business meeting" organized jointly by the business development company Invest in MV and the Ministry of Economic Affairs is to take place. A reception by the German Embassy on the Day of German Unity is planned for Monday evening, with MV being the partner country this year.

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is currently making a shift away from Russia towards the Baltic region in its focus on foreign trade. In September, a "Baltic Sea Business Day" took place in Rostock for the first time. In previous years, there had been Russia Day instead. The format ended after Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

Denmark is one of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania's most important foreign trade partners. When it came to exports from MV, Denmark ranked fourth last year. According to the State Statistical Office, goods worth 575.2 million euros went to the Scandinavian country.
