Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: roof fire: residents were able to save themselves

Parin (dpa / mv) - In Parin (Klützer Winkel, Northwest Mecklenburg district) a semi-detached house burned on Friday night. The roof structure of the house caught fire around 11:30 p.m. for an unknown reason, according to the Rostock police. The fire surprised the five residents, including two children, while they were sleeping, but they were able to get out of the house before the fire brigade and police arrived. During the first attempt to extinguish the fire independently, a 33-year-old resident of the house was injured with burns on his arm. The fire brigade continued to put out the fire until around 1:00 a.m. The ambulance was also on duty. According to the police, the resulting property damage is around 200,000 euros. The cause of the fire is now being determined.
