Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) starts her Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania tour on Monday (10.15 a.m.). As the head of government said beforehand, she wants to meet entrepreneurs during the one-week tour, consult with representatives of associations and also acknowledge volunteer work. "I would like to get an idea of the situation on site. Energy, digitization and agriculture are central issues for the present and future of our country."
The high energy prices and impending gaps in the gas supply have been the focus of public discussion for weeks and should therefore also play an important role on the tour. Schwesig acknowledged the responsibility of politics to ensure a secure and affordable energy supply.
On her first stage, the head of government in the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim will visit the metal construction company Dockweiler AG in Neustadt-Glewe and Hydraulic Nord Technologies GmbH in Parchim. Symbolically, she wants to cover part of the route with an electric bus. This should clearly document that the red-red government wants to promote climate protection and the energy transition and strengthen local public transport. According to Schwesig, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania should become a location for climate-neutral business.
