At the beginning of the year there were still 500 corona test sites in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The number is now going down. Why is that?
Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The number of corona test sites in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has decreased significantly over the course of the year. As the Ministry of Health announced when asked, there were 214 options in the country on November 1st where rapid corona tests were offered. According to the ministry, there were around 500 test sites at the beginning of the year. The decline is explained by the declining incidence of infection and the fall in demand. In addition, there are other test options, for example at pharmacies, dentists, rehabilitation facilities or rescue services.
There was no information about the number of rapid tests carried out, as these are not recorded by the Ministry of Health. In the last recorded calendar week from November 14th to 20th, the PCR tests dropped by 6.8 percent to 15,816.
